{Aryn} | Funky Indiana Senior Photography

I'm pretty sure Aryn has made the longest trip out of all my Seniors so far! Aryn came from Indianapolis to Van Wert to get her Senior images. Her dad is a native of Van Wert, and while visiting in early summer she had seen my Senior Marketing shoot images. I was sooo excited after her mom called to schedule her.

{Tori} | Ohio Funky Senior Photography

Tori's session can be added to some of my favorite pictures. Tori and her posse of family joined us on the shoot and it was very fun! Other photographers in this field can relate at how challenging it is to give every senior something different. It's something I pride myself on that I can push through to look at something no one would notice and make it exciting. Or if shooting in a place I have shot before, to make it new for that client. The night before Tori's session, my husband and I took the long way home and found some amazing ideas.

We found a sunflower field and my mind was racing with ideas...

But this shot, I must give credit to Tori's mom.... Thanks for bringing it up, Laurie! I LOVE this pic ;)

Anyone who has been around the downtown area in Van Wert knows that the town has been putting in new water lines. Why not take advantage of the great color and amazing patterns these tubes provide? I love how the light shines through. Tori you are so beautiful!!

Thank you to Amanda Painter for giving Tori a beautiful glow!

Dancing with JOY!

I am so excited and blessed and amazed to say that my dad is condidered by his doctors CANCER FREE! He has only 2 more Chemo treatments and a shot of radiation to seal the deal.

Photobucket

I know this has so much more than treatments. I know the power of Prayer. I know God hears us. I know He has a plan. I'm so glad that His plan holds my dad being here with us. I am so very grateful.

Photobucket

Theres always been something about my dad that holds a special place in my heart. He has always made sure we were taken care of before his own needs. And speaking from a Dad and Daughter perspective, I know he's been the greatest dad in the world to me and will continue to be for the rest of mine and his life.

Photobucket

The blog post I shared when my dad found out he had cancer was the hardest thing I ever had to write in my life. I couldn't read it again after I posted it. I still cannot make it through a church service on Sundays without crying. It still hurts that he even had to go through this. But I have been intuitive with God. And I know when He is speaking to me. Laying in bed the other night after we recieved this news he revealed to my heart a joyful song. He allowed me to feel joy in this trial. My friend, Leigha, who also battled cancer loved the verse Phillipians 4:4-7 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This has always stuck with me. So instead of praying for my dad to not have cancer anymore I started praying for all the good things that came of this. I prayed in joy that my family who was already close became closer. I prayed in joy that I was blessed with a father who cared so deeply for his children. I prayed in joy that my mom and dad had such respect for each other and their love is deep and rich. I prayed in joy that my dad looked so well. I prayed in joy that he was the most amazing Grandfather my children and my nephews could ever have. I prayed in joy that his treatments were going so well. I prayed in joy that this terrible disease brought me and my husband closer.
I prayed in joy that I have a father.
And now I am praying in joy that God has healed him.

Photobucket

Dad's cancer has made me dig deeper, work harder, and pull out some of the best work I have ever produced. I know my dad is proud of me. That's something that no one can ever take away from me.

Photobucket

The pictures I am sharing are some of my mom's favorite pictures of dad with the grandkids. That's one thing that has never been scarce at our home is the presence of a camera. When something like this happens, I am glad that's one thing I don't have to regret. That we have documented everything with dad. Here is one of the hardest things I had to document. It left me with a very awful feeling. I love my dad's hair. My color is his color. We have the same wispy fine but thick hair. The night we shaved his heair due to it falling out because of Chemo was one of the hardest nights of my life. I couldn't take anymore pictures, I could barely breathe. It took everything I had not to cry while shooting. Here is a shot from that night.

Photobucket

I think my sister-in-law Amanda has a picture of me that night after I put my camera down. When I saw it, I realized what was written all over my face. I was terrified.

But now there are nothing but smiles. I danced in joy after the phone call from my mom about Dad's good news, and I showered my dad with I LOVE YOU's on the phone after I quit crying tears of joy. I sent out a million text messages, I called my Erin and my Amy. I sighed and out came 400,000 pounds of stress. The Lord once again has shown me joy. I am forever changed in my Dad's walk. I am so proud of him. I now am absolutely sure there is NOTHING my dad cannot do. He's such a show-off ;)I Love you Dad!

Look how good this guy looks...

And look how good they look together....

I love you Dad, and I Love ALL my family. You guys are the best. Especially these two beauties...

{Kaleb} | Funky Ohio Senior Photography

Kaleb had me cracking up before I even met him. I think we messaged back and forth on facebook 20 times. First he had questions, then he had more questions, then he asked where in Delphos I was at (I'm in Van Wert), and then more questions. I asked him if he even read my first message. ;) LOL! But none the less, we had a great time on his shoot. He had me cracking up during as well!

Kaleb's mom wanted pictures in his suit. He looked very polished. This is my favorite from the series of suit pictures...

Photobucket

He has these awesome crystal blue eyes. They are GORGEOUS. Look how much those eyes catch you in these pics...

{Taylor} | Funky Ohio Senior Photography

Taylor's shoot was eventful! It was so windy, but I was able to find many locations that we could escape it. She looked so gorgeous and I loved all of her clothes! Especially this leather jacket. The setting is so perfect for it!

Photobucket

We then travelled to a place that I use to shoot frequently. A house used to stand there next to a barn, and they had a small apple orchard and alot of shady trees. Since the last time I had shot there they bulldozed the house and uprooted many of the trees. My favorite tree still stands but the shady area around it is now full sun. :( BUT! We were still able to use the barn. They leveled the ground and didn't plant grass so most of it is all still dirt. As we walked up to the barn, Taylor stepped in a sink hole and it ate her flip flop. ATE IT. No more flipflop. We even dug for it. It's GONE. Wierdest thing ever! But her bestie Brooke sacrificed her flip flop so that Taylor could still wear them in pictures :) Thanks, Brooke!
Here is one of my MANY favorites from the barn..

Photobucket

Taylor's session landed on fair time, so we were able to go in and get on the rides for some shots. I love these...

Photobucket

...Especially this one!!

Photobucket

The next 2 pictures are probably my favorite from the entire shoot. This whole series in the full gallery are my favorites. It was hard to choose how many from this series to put on the blog, buut I think I made the right choices. I lalalalove these!!!!

Photobucket

Stunning.

Photobucket

Thank you Taylor! I hope you love them as much as I do!

{Amanda} | Funky Ohio Senior Photography

DIVA. DI-VA. DEEEEE-VAAAAAA! This girl emits fabulousness (is that a word? It is now.) wherever she goes. :) And those curls? Another amazing 'do by Rachel Elliot ;)

Photobucket

HELLLLOOOOO GORGEOUS.

Photobucket

I was super stoked when we had talked about incorporating pointe shoes into a funky picture. We took two. I like the urbanness of this one, but the second one has to be my FAV...

The above image was taken before the old brick building beside Dull Lumber burnt. When I was informed it was on fire, it felt like someone has shoved a knife in my heart. I loved that building. Not only a beautiful place to shoot, but I had some aspirations about that building in the future. I was so sad to see the remains. Ripped my heart out :( Enough of that, lets get back to this beauty...

These images were some of my favorite. Also a favorite spot for the entire summer. :)

Amanda I hope you love them (I DO!) and that they live up to the diva standard ;) Only the best for you :) :)
